SCREENING
1. The composition must be original and must not have won national or
international competitions, online or offline. It may either be in Filipino,
English or Taglish and must be composed by the band.
2. SUN BROADBAND reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the following
requirements and its decision on such matter is final:
a. Entries containing any threatening, false, misleading, abusive,
harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory,
pornographic or profane acts or thoughts;
b. Entries containing any material that could constitute or encourage
negative conduct or conduct which would be considered a criminal offense, give
rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law;
c. For original songs, songs which infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks,
contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person
or entity, or which violate any person's rights of privacy or publicity. This
means, for example, that entries must not include:
i. Trademarks owned by
third parties;
ii. Copyrighted materials
owned by third parties (including musical compositions); and/or
iii. Names, likenesses,
voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public
figures, living or dead.
iv. Entries in which a
contestant has purchased or secured the rights to use existing music.
v. Entries which contain
any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than that of
SUN BROADBAND.
Note: Entries must not contain screen
credits. SUN BROADBAND will not take part in dialogue with any contestant who
has been refused entry or otherwise. SUN BROADBAND shall exert best effort to
ensure that the qualified entries comply with the conditions given. However,
SUN BROADBAND does not make any warranties that the entries, once qualified, do
not violate any of the conditions given.

The top ten (10) bands will be selected based
on the criteria below:

Selection of the top ten (10) bands will be
on June 19, 2013, 3PM at the SUN CELLULAR office in Galleria Corporate Center,
EDSA cor. Ortigas Avenue, 1110 Q.C. The panel of judges is composed of four (4)
members – of which two (2) are from MCA Universal, one (1) from Sun Cellular
and one (1) music icon in the industry.
The top ten (10) finalists will be announced
on June 22, 2013 via print-ad, posted on www.sunbroadband.ph/bandquest and
www.facebook.com/SunBroadband. They will also be notified through email,
registered mail and phone call.
The top 10 (ten) bands will attend a full-day
workshop and a one-on-one session with the top OPM bands and artists signed
under MCA Universal on June 29, 2013. Attendance for this full-day workshop is
mandatory for all finalists. If a band member of any of the top ten (10) bands
is not present on the day of the workshop, it may disqualify the band from the
contest.
ONLINE
VOTING
The Top 10 band’s original composition will
be made accessible through the SUN BROADBAND website for online voting. Online
personality constitutes 20 % of the overall Grand Finals SUN BROADBAND QUEST
scores.
All participating bands will each have an
online profile in the SUN BROADBAND website which they can update to get more
votes and likes. Each band is entitled to the profile elements listed below:

c. About The Band
d. Dedication Page
Each band’s online profile will be made
available one (1) week after the announcement of the top ten (10) finalists.
Uploading of the content will be coursed through SUN BROADBAND’S partner agency
(“web administrator”). Finalists are allowed to use any scheme to get more
votes as long as it does not contain derogatory or defamatory content.
Voting
Mechanics:
a. To vote, one must go to www.sunbroadband.ph/bandquest. He/she must
like the Sun Broadband Facebook page first. This site will contain a portal
where anyone can vote for the band of their choice. One can only vote once
during the campaign period. There will be a summary of the scores of all the
participating bands for the public’s viewing.
Voting will start on June 22, 2013 and will
end on July 11, 2013.
The results of the voting and the winner
shall be announced on www.sunbroadband.ph/bandquest. The declaration of the
winner by SUN BROADBAND is final.
SUN
BROADBAND QUEST WORKSHOP
The top 10 (ten) bands will be notified and
be briefed on the next activities, itineraries and agenda lined up for them.
They will be required to attend a full-day workshop and a one-on-one session
with the top OPM bands and artists signed under MCA Universal on June 29, 2013.
Attendance for this full-day workshop is mandatory for all finalists. If a band
member of any of the top ten (10) bands is not present on the day of the
workshop, it may disqualify the band from the contest.
SUN
BROADBAND QUEST GRAND FINALS
The contest will be culminated by way of a
big concert as the grand finals which will be held on July 12, 2013. All
participating bands will perform their all-original song for the public and the
judges’ final viewing. Announcement of the winners and prizes will be conducted
on this day.
A panel of judges composed of four (4)
members – of which two (2) are from MCA Universal, one (1) from Sun Cellular and
one (1) music icon in the industry – shall select the top ten (10) bands using
the following criteria:

The grand finals will be held at the Music
Museum in Greenhills.
OTHER
GUIDELINES:
1. By submitting their entries, the bands confirm, agree to and
acknowledge that:
a. SUN BROADBAND is permitted to receive their registration data and
that all personal information supplied by them will be used by SUN BROADBAND in
accordance with its privacy policy;
b. All entries submitted will be SUN BROADBAND’s property and it is in
SUN BROADBAND’s discretion on how and where such submitted videos will be used,
whether for promotional, internal or for whatever use it may have.
c. They have the right to submit the original songs as part of their
entries for this promotion and as such holds SUN BROADBAND, its third party
contest organizers and duly authorized representatives free and harmless from
any claim by third parties for violation of privacy, violation of intellectual
property rights and/or damage to reputation and other instances similar to the
foregoing;
d. Within the same year from the submission of the entry (the “lockout
period”), they shall not enter into a similar promotion or any competition
which would require them to use/submit/perform the original songs they
submitted under this promotion.
e. Should the restriction be violated, SUN BROADBAND may avail of
remedies provided under existing laws including but not limited to the filing
of an action for damages and/or injunction;
f. SUN BROADBAND shall not be
liable for any unauthorized use, reproduction and adaptations by third parties
of any entry under this promotion which are not caused by SUN BROADBAND. SUN
BROADBAND shall likewise not be liable for any unauthorized posting, use,
reproduction and adaptation of the photo(s) or video(s) he/she submitted in
this promotion in internet sites such as but not limited to “You Tube” and
other similar media;
g. They shall hold SUN BROADBAND free and harmless from any and all
claims, suits and actions for damages or liabilities that may be brought by
other persons, natural or juridical, in connection with their participation in
this promotion as well as the statements, representations and declarations made
by them in relation to the promotion; and
h. They shall make no reproduction of any part of the website for
purposes of selling or distributing the same for commercial gain nor shall they
modify or incorporate any part of the website in any other work, publication or
website.
2. SUN BROADBAND, its parents, affiliates,
subsidiaries and related companies, its advertising or promotion agencies, or
its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives or agents
cannot join the contest and are automatically disqualified from joining.
3. Prizes in kind are not transferable in any way.
